Welcome to Cereal City
At one time there were more than 100 cereal companies registered in Battle Creek. It was the turn of the century, times were changing, and the public wanted breakfast that was fast and convenient.
The Kellogg brothers and C.W. Post paved the way, turning an idea for a healthy vegetarian meal of crispy cereal flakes into flourishing businesses.
Cereal is part of Battle Creek’s dynamic history and we welcome you here to discover all of the food, fun and folkways of the present.
Eat breakfast at the National Cereal Festival in June. Feed giraffes at Binder Park Zoo. Watch airplanes fly into the airport during dinner at Waco Kitchen. Connect with people and a great cup of coffee at Café Rica. Admire more than 50 murals among the buildings of Battle Creek. Launch your kayak on the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek rivers. Play ball (or catch a game) at Bailey Park.
Use this website to find a nice place to spend the night, and to make a list of local attractions that catch your eye. There’s something happening in Battle Creek every week, and we invite you to join the fun of big festivals. To make planning a little easier, we made some itineraries, based on what YOU like to do.
